Responsibilities

As the Patient Access Prof./Patient Service Specialist you will:

• Provides patients and physicians professional and friendly billing and reception duties and knowledge of Orthopedics at Valley View.
• Provide exemplary guest service to all internal and external customers. This includes phone and face-to-face interaction with patients, expeditiously determining and meeting patients needs, assisting patients when appropriate, and displaying an approachable and professional image in personal appearance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare terminology, health insurance, electronic medical records system, HIPAA, and familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 principles.
• Organize patient flow, keeping physicians and patients on schedule.
• Maintain patient files and accounts in a professionally accurate manner.
• Screen office manager, physician and nurse calls, handling appropriately.
• Ensure billing and collection processes are maintained.
• Assist as necessary in a timely manner with all billing and collection efforts.

Qualifications

Skills:

• Clerical: typing, filing, scheduling, and strong computer skills; exceptional customer service skills; detail oriented with excellent telephone and communication skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Experience:

• Two years in a reception or clerical field.
• One to two years of customer service required.
• Previous experience in insurance verification, patient registration, collections or billing required.

Salary Range

• $20.00 to $28.87/hour
• Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.

Loan Repayment
