Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Medication Administration: Administer oral and intravenous medications as prescribed, monitor patient responses, and report any adverse reactions to the supervising RN or physician.
• Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly assess and document patients' vital signs, recognizing and reporting any significant changes in condition.
• Assisting with Procedures: Support physicians and RNs during medical procedures and examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information regarding medications, treatment plans, and coping strategies related to mental health conditions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with an interdisciplinary team, including RNs, physicians, social workers, and therapists, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Documentation: Accurately record patient information, interventions, and responses in medical records, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies.
• Crisis Intervention: Assist in managing crisis situations by employing de-escalation techniques and ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
• Daily Living Support: Aid patients with activities of daily living as needed, promoting independence and dignity.

Requirements:

• Current LPN license in [State].
• Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing is preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and crisis intervention skills.
