Company Overview Gourmet Caterers is New England's largest privately owned and operated caterer, planning and executing events from 10 to 10,000 people. The company prides itself in offering gracious, honest, and reliable service. Gourmet is a full-service caterer that also offers a wide array of other services, rentals and event coordination. Position Summary The Event Server works a variety of events throughout the Boston area. Events range in size and scope, and the server assists with event set‑up, service and breakdown. He/she must exhibit a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service. Servers report directly to the Director of Service and the onsite Event Manager while on the job. Duties and Responsibilities Report to the job site on time in complete and proper uniform. Complete tasks assigned by the Event Manager to successfully execute the event. Adhere to the service guidelines and company policies. Qualifications 1–3 years experience in a high‑end catering and/or restaurant and/or hotel environment. Exceptional customer service skills and extreme attention to detail. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays. Valid TIPS Alcohol certification maintained at all times. Additional Job Requirements Walking or standing for extended periods. Carrying or lifting items up to 50 lbs. Bending, stooping and kneeling. Conditions of Employment The Event Server positions are "on‑call" positions with work available when and where the business requires. All scheduling is completed through an automatic web‑based tool which requires email access. Employees are required to find their own transportation to and from an event. Depending on length of time and distance traveled, compensation may be available. Gourmet Caterers adheres to a policy of employment‑at‑will which allows either party to terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice.
