Salary: $225,000 $350,000 (commensurate with experience)

Family/Matrimonial Law Attorney

We are a dynamic, full-service law firm with a strong commitment to providing exceptional counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized service to our clients. Since our founding in 2000, we have grown to over 115 attorneys who bring decades of experience and problem-solving expertise to every case.

As our Matrimonial Department continues to expand, we are seeking a seasoned Family/Matrimonial Law Attorney with 10+ years of experience and a proven track record as a first-chair trial attorney . The ideal candidate will have deep experience in matrimonial and family law litigation, including conducting trials and depositions.

We are looking for someone who is driven, strategic, and capable of managing a high-volume caseload while guiding junior staff and maintaining a client-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as first-chair trial attorney in complex matrimonial cases.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, depositions, and legal briefs.
• Represent clients in Supreme and Family Courts across Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation while ensuring efficient, cost-effective strategies.
• Oversee case progress, manage court calendars, and monitor client matters.
• Advocate for clients in divorce, custody, child support, and other family-related proceedings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of court procedures and matrimonial law.
• Collaborate with and provide leadership to support staff.
• Assist in other cases as needed and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing matrimonial law.
• Demonstrated 1st chair trial experience.
• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communicator with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook; experience with Litify is a plus.
• Prior experience in a family law clinic or clerkship with family court judges is a plus.
• A book of business is highly desirable.

Salary Range: $225,000 $350,000 (commensurate with experience)
