Job Description

Job Description

Truce Law is looking for a fully remote family law attorney who lives in the state of Washington to join our legal team. If you're located near Olympia or would like to manage cases in Thurston County, that is a plus.

Our law firm sets itself apart by marketing to clients who are looking for amicable and collaborative approaches to divorce, with contested divorce cases being the exception at our firm. If you want to spend more time with clients who are interested in settling their divorce peacefully through negotiation, Truce Law is the place for you.

As a remote family law attorney at our firm, you’ll work with legal mentors who have decades of experience helping clients negotiate difficult divorce challenges, while also playing a leadership role on a team committed to helping families achieve faster results by resolving legal issues with less conflict and less litigation.

Clients want to negotiate healthier co-parenting arrangements for their families and hire us because they don’t want to go to court. We are looking for a team player who loves creative problem-solving and who wants to help couples and families move forward using conflict resolution rather than an adversarial approach.

Our team loves working for Truce Law because of our relaxed atmosphere and our focus on collaborative law, which means our attorneys aren’t regularly facing the kinds of higher conflict cases (and the associated stress involved). Our mentors are committed to nurturing your progress and development as a family lawyer within our firm. Finally, we have a diverse staff from around the world with quarterly events both online and in person to bring the team together.

Apply with confidence; your application will be kept completely confidential.

Benefits:

  • 401(k) with 3% Firm Contribution
  • Dental Insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Performance Bonuses
  • New Client Generation Bonus of 10% of Collected Fees

Compensation:

$140,000 - $175,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by thoroughly understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, and developing strategic action plans.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as required.
  • Regularly audit your active matters and provide clients with a monthly case update (summarizing the status of their case, recent accomplishments, and forthcoming steps) to keep them informed and maintain good communication.
  • Collaborate closely with your mentoring attorney to brainstorm case strategies and best options for clients.
  • Review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.
  • Lead your legal pod, including paralegals and legal assistants, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Engage actively in legal team meetings and one-on-one meetings with the mentoring attorney to promote both individual and team growth.
Qualifications:
  • A current Washington State Bar License is mandatory.
  • State of Washington residency required.
  • 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a solid understanding of family law.

About Company

Founded on February 14, 2018, Truce Law was built on the belief that divorce and family law matters don’t have to be combative. Our focus is on collaborative, low-conflict solutions, helping families navigate legal challenges with less litigation and more resolution.

The public often views divorce through the dramatic lens of pop culture and high-profile cases, leading to fear and misinformation.

Our mission is to change that narrative, educating the public about amicable divorce options and making collaboration the first choice rather than the exception.

Our vision is simple: To be the leading firm people turn to when facing family challenges. If you’re ready to help us build a more compassionate approach to family law while growing a thriving business, we’d love to meet you!
